「恥ずかしい」in English

先日チビの園で「保育参加」がありました～、各自工作を作って最後にみんなの前で発表しました、モジモジしながらも昨年（年少）のころよりも立派に名前などを言えたチビが誇らしかったです(´▽｀)

We had some handcrafts together at his nercery school the other day, my son did really well than last year so I'm really proud of him.

 

子供の恥ずかしいとかモジモジは日本でも有名な「shy シャイ」です、「He is shy. 彼は恥ずかしい・恥ずかしがり屋」・「 My kids're shy with new people. うちの子供たちは人見知り」になります。

 

今回は顔を赤らめてしまうような「恥ずかしい」で例文を作ります

 

恥ずかしい＝人 be embarrassed（主語の感情）// 物事 be embarrassing(物事の描写）

 

 

このパターンは「be interestedと、 be interesting」と同じです。

 

 

では１つずつ例文を見ていきましょ～

＜be embarrased （感情）＞

 

・I'm embarrased.

恥ずかしい

 

 

 

・I was embarrased.

恥ずかしかった

☆過去の事ならbe動詞を過去形にするだけです。

 

 

 

 

・Are you embarrased?

恥ずかしい？

☆疑問文にするときはbe動詞を前に出すだけ。

 

 

 

・I was really embarrased at that time.

あの時はすごく恥ずかしかった

☆reallyで「すごく」

☆at that timeで「あの時」

 

 

 

 

・We were so embarrased when we misunderstood the word.

あの言葉を勘違いしていた時は、めっちゃ恥ずかしかった

☆soで「めっちゃ」

☆misunderstandで「勘違い」を過去形「misunderstood：勘違いした」。

 

 

 

 

・He gets embarrased when he talks in front of a lot of people.

彼は大勢の人の前で話すとき恥ずかしくなる。

☆be動詞の代わりに「get～の状態になる」を使う事もできます

☆in front of～で、「～の前」

☆a lot of～で、「沢山の～」。

 

 

 

 

＜be embarrassing（描写）＞

 

・That's embarrassing.

それは恥ずかしい

 

 

 

・That isn't embarrassing.

それは恥ずかしくないよ

 

 

 

・Is that embarrassing?

それは恥ずかしいの？

 

 

 

 

・I think that's pretty embarrassing.

それはわりと恥ずかしいと思うよ

☆prettyで、「わりと」。

 

 

 

 

・How embarrassing !

なんて恥ずかしい！

☆How ＋形容詞で、「なんて～！」という感嘆です。

 

 

 

・I hope the suggestion isn't embarrasing though.

恥ずかしい提案じゃないといいけどね

☆I hope～で、「～だといいな」

☆suggestionで、「提案」

☆thoughで、「～だけどね」。

 

 

 

・She didn't wanna tell us because that's a embarrassing memory.

恥ずかしい思い出だから（私たちに）言いたくないって

☆wanna (want to)で、「～したい」

☆tellで、「言う・伝える」

☆memoryは、「思い出」
